Eclipse Foundation and OMG To Hold 3rd Biannual Workshop on Eclipse Open Source Software & OMG Open Specifications
OMG® and the Eclipse Foundation have announced the 3rd Biannual Workshop on Eclipse Open Source Software and OMG Open Specifications to be held March 25, 2012 in Reston, Virginia, USA.
OMG is holding its quarterly Technical Meeting in Reston during the week of March 19-23, while EclipseCon North America 2012 is being held in the same venue on March 26-29. Holding this joint event on the intervening weekend therefore makes it convenient for participants in either event to attend.

Idlelo 2012
The primary goal of the IDLELO 5 conference is to increase the awareness, integration and adoption of free and open source software (FOSS) in Africa. The theme of the IDLELO 5 conference emphasizes how FOSS solutions are being used to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDG) by 2015. Whether we work as individuals or with a multilateral or bilateral donor, an international corporation, consultancy or nonprofit group, members of the community should all be contributing toward an unprecedented worldwide effort to reach the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

Military EHRS — Where Do We Stand? Where Are We Going? – How Will We Get There?
The future of the Military Health Record system and collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will take front stage an the upcoming conference in Washington, DC., March 15-16. As noted in the program, this conference "brings together the experts from government and industry who are defining and developing the solutions to these and other issues and who are modernizing the military Healthcare IT infrastructure and developing the next-generation Military EHRS."
The Military Health System (MHS) has been a key player in the development and utilization of EHRS throughout the military medical system. Currently, it serves over nine million patients, one hundred thirty thousand Medical Health System staff, four hundred plus medical clinics, and over sixty military hospitals. As the program aptly points out, in sharp contrast 'less than ten percent of US non-military hospitals have even a basic electronic records system."
