29th VistA Community Meeting: Details of Upcoming Technical Conference
The upcoming 29th VistA Community Meeting (VCM), to take place June 2-4 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, is shaping up as a breakthrough gathering of technical experts on VistA and community members. The conference is bringing senior leaders from several US Federal Government agencies, including the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Indian Health Service (IHS) together with technical leaders of the VistA community to collaborate on improving the VistA and RPMS EHRs.

State University of New York at Albany Launches VistA EHR Studies Program
The Albany Campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) has launched a new VistA EHR Studies program—the most comprehensive one of its kind in the United States. The program, which began on March 24, provides students the basis to learn and manage VistA’s fast-growing open source electronic health record (EHR) system. VistA Education Meeting - New VistA Class At SUNY Albany
New York State is currently performing the largest deployment of VistA in the United States (outside of the Department of Veterans Affairs). Sixth Hackathon On Rare Diseases - SUNY Albany April 12th
The Sixth Hackathon for Rare Diseases will take place on Saturday April 12th at the State University of New York at Albany. This is a follow up of the Fifth Hackathon for Rare Diseases that took place on February 22nd. The goal of the Hackathon is to continue implementing the prototype of a web-based platform for facilitating the information management of members of the Rare Diseases community. A first pass at the prototype is currently available here in Github, under the Apache 2.0 License.
