Australia to follow New Zealand's lead on changes to software patent laws
The movement to pass new laws doing away with software patents continues to pick up steam. Following on the heels of action by the government of New Zealand to abolish software patents, the Open Source Industry Australia (OSIA) is urging the Australian government to do the same. In addition to New Zealand's recent ban on software patents, the European Union (EU) has been debating similar moves for more than a decade. Open source solutions for the Philippines
THE National Telehealth Center (NTHC) has urged Filipinos to become more active members of the OpenMRS (Medical Records System) to enhance the country’s health capacity. To promote the system, the NTHC recently organized a gathering of developers and users of free and open-source software for use in health centers around the world for the sixth annual OpenMRS Implementers Meeting held at the Y.C. James Yen Center at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR).

Malaysia Open Source Conference 2012
Malaysia Open Source Conference 2012 (MOSC2012) is an international conference for sharing knowledge in ICT thats related to Open Source Software (OSS) and OSS communities. This year’s theme for Malaysia Open Source Conference 2012 is “Enterprising Open Source”. The theme invites the participant to share and explore the Open Source solutions and technology that are used in Enterprise environment.
