B3 Group Awarded EVH Support Contract

Press Release | B3 Group, Inc. | May 8, 2016

Leesburg, VA, May 8, 2016 -- B3 Group, Inc. is excited to announce partnership with ManTech International Corp. to support Elimination of Veterans Homelessness (EVH) initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this initiative, we will continue to support the Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) developed web portals, namely the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Repository and the Veteran Re-Entry Search Service (VRSS).

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has mandated Continuum of Care (CoC) for the homeless implement HMIS in their local jurisdictions. These applications have enabled national-level reporting on homelessness, including data on homeless Veterans. They also provide communities with information that makes it possible to identify service gaps and track program successes and whether or not clients present for service at other homeless programs. Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) programs will be the first required by VA to participate in the HMIS run by their local CoCs. SSVF is a program designed to fund local providers to offer supportive services to low-income Veteran families who are occupying permanent housing. The program is similar to HUD’s Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), and is intended to reduce homelessness in its target population.

The VRSS system is a web portal that allows both penal systems and court systems to upload data pertaining to their inmate or defendant populations. VRSS then interfaces with VA and Department of Defense (DoD) Identity Registry (VADIR) system to identify Veterans within the uploaded list. The identification process deletes all non-Veteran records while reporting back to the uploading registered user only the identification number data (prison id or defendant id) of all identified Veterans. In addition, reporting data criteria is provided to the VA Justice Programs, so that VA can provide outreach to these Veterans.

On this effort, B3 and ManTech team mehttp://www.va.gov/HOMELESS/about_the_initiative.aspmbers will provide sustainment, change management, training, Help Desk Tier 2 support and testing support for both the HMIS Repository and VRSS. B3 is looking forward to partnering with ManTech and the VA on this mission critical initiative, helping to better meet the needs of our nations veterans.
