GE, Panasonic, and Strongloop among those Sharing Perspectives on Preserving Openness in Internet of Things; Netflix to Discuss Open Source as Competitive Differentiator

BURLINGTON, Mass., March 14, 2014 — Black Duck Software, the trusted partner for open source software (OSS) adoption, management, and governance, today announced additional details for its ninth annual Open Source Think Tank 2014 event, taking place March 24-26 in Napa, CA.

The invitation-only conference, focusing on the theme “Open Source – Engine of Innovation,” will feature a case study on the Internet of Things. Led by an executive panel, this year’s case study will take an in-depth look at the challenges of preserving openness in IoT. Panel members will include representatives from GE Software, Panasonic Automotive Systems America, and Strongloop, among others.

In addition, Ruslan Meshenberg, Director, Cloud Platform Engineering at Netflix and Sean Roberts, Infrastructure Strategy at Yahoo! will provide updates to the Netflix and OpenStack case study presented at the 2013 Open Source Think Tank conference, which centered around open source as a competitive differentiator.
