Six new functionalities now available with instructional webinars detailing each tool.
Juno Beach, FL – August 2, 2010 – DSS, Inc., a provider of software, integration, installation, project management, training, support and development of VistA and vxVistA, today announced the launch of vxVistA.org Second Generation, the latest version of its highly regarded open source collaboration environment. This update features new tools available to the vxVistA open source collaboration community that enhance the site’s management and development functionalities.
“We utilize these new tools for internal open source projects and know they will be of great value to the vxVistA open source community,” said Mark Byers, President and CEO of DSS. “vxVistA.org Second Generation is the first step towards empowering our community with the means to effectively manage projects like implementations and software development.”
Through this expansion, vxVistA developers have free access to Atlassian and other third-party toolsets that help manage projects, build diagrams, track coding issues and more. To further support the community, DSS will be launching a series of webinars to detail each new function, including the following:

With the new toolset, community members will be able to start with an idea, collaborate on the development of the idea, design GUI Mockups, generate discussions about the concept, transfer those ideas to flow diagrams, track bugs generated during the development, and apply Agile Project Management framework.
VxVistA.org Second Generation is the second of three major phases initially presented by DSS to the vxVistA open source community in January 2010, aimed at identifying, organizing and offering the best functionalities needed in a comprehensive collaboration environment. Following the launch of the Second Generation website, DSS will begin the process of developing the Third Generation, emphasizing code development and management.
