Kicking off this year’s Future in Review conference, Dr. Kevin Montgomery from Stanford University introduced his revolutionary geospatial social platform Collaborate.org. At the end of his presentation, Mark Anderson, CEO of the Strategic News Service and the Future in Review Conference, awarded him the Entrepreneur of the Year award for his work building this revolutionary new tool.
Hosted by the Strategic News Service, the Future in Review conference is unlike other conferences in the fact that it showcases and predicts trends impacting technologies that will impact the world as opposed to ones currently facing us. In front of an audience of thought leaders from academia, the scientific community and high tech, Dr. Kevin Montgomery was honored for developing Collaborate.org, the most advanced geospatial social collaboration platform.
The initial concept behind Collaborate.org began approximately eight years ago based on Montgomery’s conversations across government, academia and industry. During these interactions, he learned that there were a common set of themes tying them together, including the need to share resources, access and integrate data from many sources, but more importantly the need for collaboration across organizational boundaries, irrespective of geographic distances. Collaborate.org was developed to address these needs across all groups and enable them to work together more effectively, resulting in a tremendous multiplier for humankind.
Dr. Kevin Montgomery graciously accepted the award and afterwards thanked everyone who was involved with this effort. “Collaborate.org is our contribution to encourage people to come together and share their expertise and experiences, empowering them to make positive decisions impacting the world around them.” He ended with, “Go forth and do Great Things.”
Mark Anderson echoed these sentiments stating, “Collaborate.org is the most powerful toolset for doing meaningful work, which reinforces the goals of the Strategic News Service.”
Now in its eleventh year, the Future in Review conference has been named “the best technology conference in the world” by The Economist. The aim of the conference is to provide its attendees a view into the future of various issues facing society ranging from environmental research, global initiatives, healthcare, science, education, energy, and economics. Its publicly graded prediction rate in these areas are unmatched, and its success is in pointing out critically important strategic issues to global thought leaders in their own areas of expertise.
