HIMSS12: eCollaboration Forum
HIMSS has partnered with the Collaborative Health Consortium for a full-day event during the HIMSS12 conference in Las Vegas that will explore of how collaborative platforms can transform accountable care. While the event is set from the perspective of how to make Accountable Care Organizations (ACO's) successful, it is clear from the program that the real focus of the discussion, which is, in fact, the solution, is how to create a collaborative open source platform/ecosystem.
This forum is a major breakthrough for HIMSS which has historically been opposed to open source solutions in the healthcare industry. We should point out that HIMSS is going even further with this approach as it has also partnered with Open Health Tools, the premier non-profit organization in the open health arena.
The range of speakers and topics at the eCollaboration Forum is absolutely impressive. As the program states, "collaborative health technologies offer a flexible solution that can connect disparate provider and payer platforms and facilitate interoperable EHRs."
The one-day forum will feature the following topics:
- How collaborative health platforms augment the entire healthcare ecosystem
- Best practices and success stories that provide valuable guidance
- Changing market dynamics driving collaborative care
- Strategies to implement collaborative technologies
- How to evaluate products and resources
- Participants are also welcome to attend an evening cocktail reception where you can network with experts and peers.
Up to date information on the forum can be found here. Forum organizers are urging potential attendees to register early as seating for this special event is limited.
