Agency IT Programs Set for Budget Cuts

Federal agency information technology programs--to the extent that they're visible--will face cuts ranging from minor to significant in the presumptive fiscal 2011 budget, introduced April 11 into the House as H.R. 1473.
The bill is the result of a deal struck by Republicans and Democrats just two hours before the last continuing resolution was set to expire on April 8, thus barely averting a government shutdown. The bill is currently on a fast-track for approval in the House with Senate agreement and President Barack Obama's signature all expected to occur before the current continuing resolution expires on midnight of April 15.
