Accenture Federal Services (AFS) announced Wednesday that it will acquire ASM Research, Inc., a provider of information technology and services to U.S. defense and federal health clients.

The deal will expand Accenture’s capabilities and opportunities with the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs, according to an Accenture news release. ASM Research will become a wholly owned subsidiary of AFS. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed and the acquisition is subject to regulatory review and other customary closing conditions.

"This strategic acquisition will expand our U.S. federal health capabilities, serving the needs of military personnel and veterans, and will help us better support clients in our growing health business across North America," said Steve Rohleder, Accenture’s group chief executive who leads the Health & Public Service operating group.
