Microsoft Loves Linux - as Long as It's Not Red Hat
There may be a lot of different community Linux distributions being used, but when it comes to paid, commercial Linux, it's most frequently Red Hat. Microsoft may find that users are fine to use CentOS on the Azure cloud but will still go to Red Hat and RHEL if and when they are seeking support.

OSEHRA 2017: Microsoft, OpenStack, IBM Support VistA in the Cloud
This year’s OSEHRA 2017 Open Source Summit proved to be another major milestone in the transition from locked-in vendor-controlled health information technology to an open solutions approach. One of the major news stories at the summit was the decision by Microsoft to join OSEHRA and collaborate with the Open Health community. Another major presentation was that of Martin Rice, Director of the Division of State System for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Clyneice Chaney, Principal Systems Engineer. In their presentation (video* and PowerPoint*), Rice and Chaney described how CMS is transitioning to an open/modular approach to State Medicaid IT systems.

Following the Supreme Court decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act, Zibdy, Inc. has announced that their platform – ZibdyHealth – addresses and provides a solution to a key goal of the ACA and HITECH act – consolidation and exchange of Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Given that patients often have records located in 5 or 6 patient portals, medical record consolidation is an important challenge which ZibdyHealth has now addressed in their free application.
