EHR Doctors and DSS, Inc. Partner for Meaningful Use of Health Information Exchange
EHR Doctors today announced a strategic partnership with DSS, Inc. of Juno Beach, FL. The partnership makes EHR Doctors' MediBridge.net Health Information Exchange (HIE) service available as part of vxVista, DSS, Inc.’s comprehensive Electronic Health record system. The solution enables HIE connectivity while meeting new HIPAA and meaningful use requirements for security, reliability, and interoperability.
“Healthcare providers need the ability to securely exchange Continuity of Care Documents to meet Stage 1 meaningful use requirements,” comments EHR Doctors' CEO Gerard Reeder.
As part of the passage of the HITECH Act, healthcare providers are required to generate records in standard formats and start transmitting health data electronically. They must also meet specifications that demand that health data be encrypted in transit and that all recipients of the data be authenticated. Medibridge.net is certified to meet these meaningful use requirements by the ONC-ATB program.
“The next 5 years will be both interesting and exciting for health IT professionals. DSS, Inc. is ready to help healthcare providers meet new Meaningful Use regulations and requirements by implementing vxVistA with solutions like Medibridge.net.” said Mark Byers, President of DSS, Inc.
EHR Doctors CCD technology is used in its contract with the US Social Security Administration to deliver a CCD from Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas over the Nationwide Health Information Network.
“The SSA contract has been a proving ground for our CCD technology. It has allowed us to design and build bridges that aggregate data from different sources and perfect a configurable process for CCD generation. It has also allowed us to prove out our HIE technology with real live patient data, not just academic challenges.” said Richard Braman, EHR Doctors' Chief Technology Officer.
