Rancho BioSciences Will Present The TranSMART Open Source Platform At TM Forum’s Digital Disruption 2013, Oct 28-31, San Jose
Rancho BioSciences will be demonstrating the open source clinical omic's platform, tranSMART at the TM Forum Digital Disruption meeting. Rancho will be show how this platform can make a difference in the Personalized Medicine Space and the IT infrastructure needed to support it.
San Diego, California (PRWEB) October 22, 2013
Rancho BioSciences, the global scientific data consulting company announced today that they will be representing the open source platform tranSMART, originally from Johnson & Johnson, at TM Forum’s Digital Disruption 2013 conference and expo. This conference takes place at the San Jose convention center, October 28-31. Rancho will be located in the Disruption Zone adjacent to the Innovation Theater. Representatives from Rancho will be showing how tranSMART can be used to store and analyze OMICs and clinical data in order to support personalized medicine. They will be showing real examples from their work with the Accelerated Cure Project and Orion Bionetworks who have funded the collection of the large multiple sclerosis data set that is now ready for analysis. Curated clinical information analyzed alongside with genomic, proteomic, and biomarker data helps participating researchers make novel hypotheses about disease mechanisms, forecast disease progression, and identify novel targets for disease treatment. The types and amount of new data now available require sophisticated technology solutions all working synergistically – for example, scalable and flexible cloud computing, adaptable but dependable security modules, solutions for big data, and capabilities for data integration.
Digital Disruption brings together key players and innovators in the digital ecosystem to focus on the challenges and opportunities being tackled today including: Innovating faster, and leveraging disruptive innovations, exploiting new service revenue streams, especially enterprise cloud-based services and increasing flexibility and business agility by applying advanced business processes and IT.
“We will show people at the meeting how tranSMART can be used as an analysis platform to understand disease mechanisms once high quality curated data has been uploaded into the system”, said Julie Bryant, founder and CEO of Rancho BioSciences. “We have a hosted version of tranSMART that will be made available for testing after the meeting for those that are interested that include curated data sets from the public domain. Our customers are using tranSMART to develop diagnostics for diseases, build disease progression models as well as supporting successful clinical trials.”
"Orion Bionetworks is a leading user of the TranSmart platform and plans to use it when launching its next generation program, Orion 2.0., for which we are currently seeking sponsors", Dr. Magali Haas, Founder and CEO, Orion Bionetworks.
