Following the success of the Open Conference held In Belfast last year IPH invites you to attend the 2nd Public Health Open Conference which will take place on Tuesday, 8 October 2013 in Croke Park, Dublin.

The programme will be suggested and developed by you, the participants, through online registration and this approach gives you the opportunity to present on a topic of your choice.  There is no cost in attending the Conference.

The aim of the Conference is to provide an open platform to:

  • Showcase multidisciplinary work in public health,
  • Provide opportunities for partnership working,
  • Assist with personal development/capacity building in public health,
  • Promote existing online learning working groups
  • Promote leadership.

  2. Research and evidence strengthening policy and practice
  3. Giving every child the best start
  4. Mental health across the lifespan
  5. Approaches to addressing overweight and obesityote leadership.

Submit proposal
Proposals to present at the Open Conference must be submitted using the form below no later than Friday, 16 August 2013.  All proposals will be issued with a number to ensure confidentiality.

Following the closing date all registered participants will vote for presentations they would like to hear at the Conference.  After voting, the presentations will be ranked according to popularity and those ranked highest will form the programme for the Conference*. The programme will give an opportunity for 24 papers to be delivered in three parallel sessions and attendees can choose which papers to attend. This will enable participants to develop a conference programme to suit their needs.

*All proposers will be notified of the results by the Friday 13 September 2013.
