Aurora Partners With Oracle to ID Clinical Trial Subjects

Aurora Health Care believes a new partnership with software giant Oracle Corp. could change the way clinical trials are run in the United States, an Aurora official said.

The Milwaukee health care provider has tapped Oracle to analyze its genetic library known as the Open-Source Robotic Biorepository and Informatics Technology (ORBIT).

The biorepository stores DNA from patients who agree to participate. The DNA is then linked to electronic health records.

That data could give pharmaceutical companies a better idea of the patients available to them for clinical trials in Aurora’s network, said Randall Lambrecht.
