Campaign for NHS VistA
The Campaign for NHS VistA is composed of a group of volunteers working to promote the use of the VistA electronic health record (EHR) system by the National Health Service (NHS) in England. They volunteer their time and expertise to campaign for the NHS to use the VistA system for the benefit of patients.
As clinicians, IT professionals, NHS managers and patients, the group thinks the NHS needs a high quality, clinically-led, electronic health record that works across all health and social care settings. Realistically, VistA is the only affordable way for the NHS to achieve this goal
The Campaign's aims are to:
- Raise awareness of the benefits of VistA as the open-source electronic health record system for the NHS
- Publicise how VistA has been implemented successfully in other countries, e.g. Jordan, U.S., India, etc.
- Generate debate about the practicalities, challenges and benefits of adopting VistA by the NHS in England.
