Press Release | Defense Strategies Institute (DSI) | July 8, 2013

Defense Strategies Institute recently announced that it will reconvene their highly regarded DoD/VA iEHR & HIE Summit September 30, 2013 at The Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square, Washington, D.C. . Since their first iteration, this “Town Hall” style forum has consistently provided the most detailed and senior-level content in regards to the efforts surrounding the “DoD/VA iEHR.”

Washington, DC, July 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “We have been honored to provide a forum where thought leaders across the military services, federal health care agencies, industry, and academia can come together to engage in truly relevant discussions and debates with one another,” stated Monica Mckenzie, Senior Partner at Defense Strategies Institute.

“I always stress at the beginning of our meetings that no one single person or organization has the total solution to the immense challenges and efforts towards advancing and improving the level of healthcare we provide to our Warfighters, Veterans and their families. It therefore truly takes a team effort where collaboration is the key. I believe that this type of collaborative effort occurs over the two days we meet, and that actionable take-aways occur,” further stated Ms. Mckenzie.

Planning has begun for the content and subject matters DSI will cover in September and registration is now open. A review of their past speakers and content leaves little doubt that they will once again create a forum that will prove invaluable to the healthcare community at large.

Some of their notable past subject matter experts have included:
* Dr. Karen Guice, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Health Affairs
* Maj Gen (P) Douglas Robb, USAF, Medical Corps Joint Staff Surgeon
* Dr. Paul Tibbits, SES, Deputy CIO, Office of Architecture, Strategy and Design, VA
* Dr. Farzad Mostashari, National Coordinator for HIT, ONC
* Dr. Barclay Butler, Director, DoD/VA IPO

The training Summit will benefit the 501c3 nonprofit Wounded Warrior Project and is open to the public, however seating will be limited.
