Arlington, VA – February 2, 2015 -- The Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA) is pleased to announce that registration for its 2015 Open Source Summit: Community-Powered Healthcare IT Solutions, to occur July 29-31 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, is now available.
“In its fourth year, we are delighted that our annual Summit has grown exponentially in both size and significance,” said Dr. Seong Ki Mun, President of OSEHRA. “With an impressive technical program, respected plenary speakers, and unfettered access to open source leaders, the 2015 Summit is certain to draw a diverse and enthusiastic community of participants.
Nearly 400 industry leaders, federal and state government officials, academics, clinicians, developers, and researchers participated in the 2014 Summit—with representation from the United States, Canada, India, Jordan, Mexico, Romania, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. 2015 Summit attendees will gain expertise in public and private sector open source health IT, will access domestic and international market opportunities, and will collaborate on global state- of-the-art solutions for electronic health records, personal health records, and population health tool development.
Confirmed Plenary Speakers include:
- Omar Shboul: Chief Technology Officer, Electronic Health Solutions
- Yen Chow, MD: Chief Innovation Officer, LongView International Technology
- Solutions
- James Bush, MD: Medicaid Medical Director, Wyoming Department of Health
Further, due to popular demand, OSEHRA and the VISTA Expertise Network will again partner to host a special Technical Town Hall; this will focus on the future of the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), the electronic health record system utilized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other healthcare providers worldwide. Also, in coordination with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) leadership, a session featuring the latest innovations from within VA will occur on the final day.
Additionally, the 2015 Summit provides a platform for community leaders to showcase their findings and share their experiences in open source during the technical tracks. Community members and attendees are highly encouraged to submit papers for consideration during the Call for Abstracts, which will remain open until April 1.
The Summit is being sponsored by DSS, Inc., the returning Conference Sponsor. Early Bird Registration for the 2015 OSEHRA Open Source Summit is offered until May 31. Sponsorship and Exhibitor opportunities are still available.
