Pending Upheaval In"The Year Of The Great EHR Switch" Shifts Spotlight To e-Health Industry's Best, Black Book Reveals 2013 Top Scoring Vendors
With more electronic health record systems continuing to fall short of providers' expectations, a new report by Black Book Rankings suggests that 2013 may indeed be the "year of the great EHR vendor switch" After polling some 17,000 active EHR adopters, report officials found that as many as a third of medical practices could be switching out their original choice of systems. 6 vendors performing atop a field of over 700 EHR developers are recognized by clients nationally.
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) March 04, 2013--Nearly a third of physicians, clinics and hospitals that got government aid to buy electronic health records systems, are dissatisfied enough with their original selection that they're willing to be switching vendors on their own dime.
Of the nearly seven hundred EHR developers in the marketplace, a handful of companies stand in the spotlight of highest client experience and customer satisfaction honors, according to current users.
" A very diffuse industry is recognizing a shakeout as physicians bought software based on promises and nearly a third are now seriously thinking of switching vendors,"said Black Book managing partner Doug Brown.
Forty market segments of EHR including medical/surgical specialties and health care delivery settings across four functional areas of EHR modules and two support areas are surveyed by Black Book annually.
About one in twenty of all EHR vendors are performing above the 90% satisfaction level in all specialties and settings they sell into according the 2013 Black Book survey participants.
"An elite group of high performance vendors will be gaining considerable marketshare in the next two years while competitor EHRs will have difficulty surviving the customer upheaval as is,"added Brown.
EHR firms faced intense client tests and trials through thousands of implementations, integrations, customizations, meaningful use and interoperability issues and respond with their experience on eighteen Black Book key performance indicators.
The six overall 2013 top customer-provided honors for EHR functionality and support across all specialties and settings they serve are:
ADP AdvancedMD - Interoperability, Communications & Connectivity
Bizmatics PrognoCIS - Clinical Workflow & Encounter Management
Cerner - Decision Support & Results Review
e-MD's - Patient Health Data Management & Administrative Processing
Emdeon - Meaningful Use & CPOE Support
