On August 9th, the AFCEA NOVA will host its 4th Annual Warfighter Support IT Day. This one-day conference in Vienna, VA will explain many of the challenges faced by agencies across the DOD as they continue to provide combat IT and systems support to Warfighter. The conference will also discuss solutions to these difficulties, as well as innovative strategies to improve the DOD’s warfare capabilities and industry opportunities available to small business owners and other organizations interested in networking with the DOD.

The following topics, among others, will be addressed:

  • Difficulties faced by the DOD in providing IT support to Warfighter
  • New information technologies proposed for the improvement of Warfighter
  • Opportunities arising from new/innovative approaches to IT support

Several healthcare IT panelists will be present at the event, including COL Hon S. Pak, COL Claude Hines, CAPT Michael S. Weiner, and Mark Goodge. Keith L Salzman, MD, MPH, will act as moderator. Dr. Salzman has contributed 22 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army and has earned several distinguished military honors, including the Bronze Star Medal and Legion of Merit.
