This coming October, IDGA will be hosting a conference in the Washington D.C. area to address the need for optimal interoperability within our military’s electronic health database.

Over the years, Information Technology (IT) has radically transformed the operations of business and communication and is now making crucial inroads into our military and government healthcare systems, specifically the VA and DOD. While progress has been made in certain areas, the need for an accurate and modernized health-data-transfer system has become paramount. During its two-day conference, IDGA’s Electronic Health Records Summit hopes to foster productive discussion, debate, and networking opportunities to address challenges and create solutions.

The discussion will concentrate on the need for “optimized interoperability” between the U.S. military and other government agencies, in regard to healthcare and EHR systems. A few of the topics that will be addressed at the conference include the following:

  • Current challenges impeding the implementation of EHR systems
  • Current initiatives within the VA/DOD toward interoperability
  • Implementation of medical devices optimizing EHR
  • Integration of private sector EHR infrastructure
  • …and much more

The conference will provide unique opportunities to dialogue, debate, and network within a forum occupied by key actors and decision makers from the military and government healthcare IT sectors. To view the list of speakers, click here.

The conference will be held in the Washington D.C. area on October 26 and 27. A detailed schedule has been posted on IDGA’s website, but a specific location has yet to be confirmed. To receive notification when this information becomes available, please contact [email protected].
