MozFest (Mozilla's annual, hands-on festival) is an annual festival where hundreds of passionate people gather to wield the Web for good. We create, teach and learn as a community in order to make the world a better place. Guiding the festival is Mozilla’s core learning vision: learning should be hands-on, immersive, and done collectively. MozFest can feel chaotic, but everyone is open, friendly and eager to help. MozFest is dedicated to forging the future of the open Web. It's where passionate technologists, educators and creators unite to hack on innovative solutions for the Web's most pressing issues. We explore topics like privacy, ethics, literacy and economy on the Web.

Code4Health and Interoperability, In partnership with NHS England
Building on the success of Code4Health* , NHS England is launching the Code4Health Interoperability Community with a specific remit of co-creating a common and open set of APIs to support information sharing across health and care. Governed by a community nominated project board, made up of representatives from the supplier community, local providers as well as reps from ‘the Centre’, together the group will develop and host of a prioritised catalogue of APIs for use across health and social care.

LibreCon 2015
LibreCon 2015 takes over from the previous four editions of LibreCon and the Free Software World Conference, planning an event whose main goal will be the creation of business and employment in all sectors of society, through free technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. With this goal always in mind, LibreCon 2015 wants to show the benefits of a sector that is successfully surviving the overall economic crisis. Open Source Developers' Conference 2015
The Open Source Developers' Conference is a not-for-profit conference covering all aspects of Open Source Technology, from software and systems to open data. For the past 11 years OSDC has been held across Australia and New Zealand, and in 2015 will be hosted for the first time in Tasmania, from October 27-29 at the Wrest Point Convention Centre in Hobart. The focus for OSDC 2015 is Opening Up For A Better World. Open source software, hardware and standards facilitate higher quality technology, better security and faster innovation; open data allows us to better discover and understand the world we live in; open government aims to ensure that citizens can participate in their democracy; open access publishing exists to spread knowledge and allow that knowledge to be built upon. MEDINFO 2015: eHealth-enabled Health
MEDINFO is the premier international health and biomedical informatics event. MEDINFO 2015 is hosted by SBIS (Brazilian Health Informatics Association) on behalf of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and will take place in the city of Sao Paulo from the 19th to 23rd August 2015. Building a sustainable community around cBioPortal
The cBioPortal for Cancer Genomics provides visualization, analysis and download of large-scale cancer genomics data sets. The code, which was developed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has recently been put into the public domain under a GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, and the Pistoia Alliance is exploring ways to build a sustainable community around it. Further project details can be found in IP3.The Pistoia Alliance will be holding a webinar to bring perspectives from the original developers, academic and pharma users, and a commercial open source solution provider, followed by a Q&A session.

31st VistA Community Meeting
The VistA community is holding its 31st VistA Community Meeting at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. The meeting is going to be addressed by a wide range of speakers, from current and former top officials of the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), to leading innovators for the Vista and RPMS EHRs. The goal of these meetings is to create a collaborative conference where VistA Community can network and collaborate, i.e., to share ideas and work, with the objective of moving VistA & the VistA community forward.
