Healthcare Arrives at SXSW
Chris Seper | Med City News | March 14, 2011
SXSW is the arts-and-music-and-technology cutting-edge hipster showcase. This year, the medical industry found a place at the table. There was a discussion on mobile health in emerging countries as well as discussions around open health data, connecting and managing health data, and health disparities among many others.
“Health, once a second-thought in the social world, is finally seeing the light of day,” wrote 33charts blogger Dr. Bryan Vartabedian, who was on the conference’s advisory board. ” This reflects the maturation of the social health community and the progressive thinking of folks like Hugh Forrest and others inside of SXSWi.”
