Michigan HIE Will Exchange with SSA in December

The South East Michigan Health Information Exchange has become operational on the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) in preparation for sharing patient data with the Social Security Administration beginning in December to speed up decisions on disability claims.
The Office of the National Coordinator has validated the Detroit, Mich., area exchange (SEMHIE) for conformance and interoperability testing. It joins 20 other participants -- federal agencies and their partners -- operating on NwHIN Exchange.
