Clinovo Rolls Out Major Enhancements For Open Source EDC ClinCapture At Outsourcing In Clinical Trials West Coast Conference
Clinovo sponsors outsourcing in clinical trials West Coast conference January 28-29, 2014 in Burlingame, CA, and will present the latest modules added to its open source Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system ClinCapture.
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) December 19, 2013
San Francisco Bay Area Contract Research Organization (CRO) Clinovo will exhibit and present its latest eClinical innovations at booth #28 during the 2014 Outsourcing in Clinical Trials West Coast conference, taking place January 28-29 in Burlingame, CA.
Clinovo will release an exclusive preview of two new features to its open source Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system ClinCapture®:
- Medical Coding: Users are able to appropriately categorize medical terms entered in ClinCapture. The function relies on 4 medical dictionaries: MedHRA, WHO Drug, ICD-9 and ICD-10. This new module of ClinCapture greatly improves clinical data consistency and interoperability.
- Risk-based Monitoring: ClinCapture can integrate with Patient Profiles to create individual reports for each subject that allow anyone (with or without a clinical, statistical, or programming background) to easily review each patient’s time on study, identify errors in data, and observe efficacy. Patient Profiles automatically run algorithms to mine clinical data and identify data that is unusual.
These integrated modules are the latest additions to ClinCapture’s integrated eClinical suite, which already includes randomization, offline capability, ePRO, CTMS and a CDISC conversion tool. A tour of the suite can be found on clinovo.com/clincapture/eclinical-suite.
"In addition to providing an elegant and intuitive user interface, we are proud to contribute to open source advanced EDC features like randomization and medical coding. These features are unheard of in the open source EDC community," explains Marc Desgrousilliers, Chief Technology Officer at Clinovo.
The Outsourcing in Clinical Trials conferences are highly regarded events amongst life sciences professionals that aim to formulate a proactive approach to perfecting Sponsor-Vendor relationships to streamline clinical studies. It’s a unique venue for in-depth discussions into current issues within vendor selection, contract negotiation and provider management. Speakers include executives from Onyx Pharmaceuticals (part of the Amgen group), BioMarin, Gilead Sciences, and many more.
This year's conference features a new stream for medical device and diagnostics companies. It will explore the specific challenges faced by this fast-moving sector of the life science industry. ClinCapture is particularly suited for medical device companies, as showcased by customer Intuitive Surgical’s video interview. Mark Burns, Clinical Data Manager at Intuitive Surgical, explains in this 5-min video how the company saved over 50% in EDC implementation costs compared to proprietary systems. Intuitive Surgical was able to build, customize and roll out ClinCapture for over 15 clinical studies.
ClinCapture is the first open source Electronic Data Capture (EDC) with an integrated eClinical suite and advanced features such as Calendared Events and Dynamic Groups. Clinovo’s open source EDC has been distributed for three years for phase I, II and IV studies, from 20 to 20,000 patients. Leading sponsor companies have secured FDA approval using ClinCapture as their preferred Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system.
A 10-day evaluation of the system can be started for free at clinovo.com/clincapture.
