ForgeRock Announces FederalConnect Solution To Accelerate The Rollout Of Digital Citizen Services In Support Of President Obama's Mandate

Press Release | ForgeRock | November 3, 2014

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 3, 2014) - ForgeRock Inc., the leading open platform provider of Identity Relationship Management (IRM) solutions, today announced the availability of ForgeRock® FederalConnect™, a new solution that allows federal agencies to accelerate rollout of digital citizen services that integrate with the Federal Cloud Credential eXchange (FCCX).

On October 17, in an effort to secure federal transactions online, the President signed an Executive Order to help prevent exposure of sensitive data. The President mandated a plan must be put in place within 90 days of the order and that there is a deadline of 18 months for all agencies to comply. ForgeRock believes the FCCX would provide a simple path for compliance with this order.

The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) program office worked with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to build FCCX, a federation hub for authenticating digital citizens that want to securely access all digital services offered by federal agencies. ForgeRock, an open source software company, worked with Allan Foster, president of the Kantara Initiative and vice president at the company in the office of the CTO, to develop FederalConnect. The ForgeRock FederalConnect solution, which is available as a downloadable free trial, allows federal agencies to accelerate the rollout of digital citizen services that connect with FCCX and, simultaneously, promotes confidence, privacy, choice and innovation.

"ForgeRock is dedicated to ensuring that federal agencies have a secure, open source avenue for complying with President Obama's Executive Order. With FederalConnect, ForgeRock is arming federal agencies with a speedy and simple solution to connect to the FCCX or any other federation hub," said Mike Ellis, CEO at ForgeRock.

"In our commitment to open standards, we're pleased to see that ForgeRock is delivering a critical connector to give federal agencies the ability to quickly rollout digital citizen services to connect to FCCX," said Joni Brennan, executive director at Kantara Initiative.

To provide more details about FederalConnect, ForgeRock is participating in a webinar with Federal Computer Week (FCW) on December 10, 2014 at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST. To register for the webinar, please visit: http://bit.do/federalconnect
