Systems Made Simple Receives 2011 Veteran-owned Business Achievement Award

Systems Made Simple, Inc. (SMS), a leading provider of IT systems and services to support critical architecture, data and application challenges in the healthcare industry, today announced it has been awarded the 2011 Veteran-owned Business Achievement (VOBA) Award by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The VOBA Award recognizes exemplary veteran entrepreneurs and their businesses for achieving the following: staying power, growth in employees or sales, current and past financial performance, innovativeness of product or service, response to adversity, and contributions to community-oriented projects. SMS is a certified service-disabled, veteran-owned business and was selected for meeting all of the identified criteria.

Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER), in accordance with President Obama's directive to create an electronic record exchange that will permit information vital to healthcare, benefits and services to be shared between the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs. VLER seamlessly integrates DoD data to VA data in order to create a single electronic record of health, benefits and personal data.

VA Time and Attendance System (VATAS), this system provides VA medical centers with an enterprise-wide time reporting tool that supports accounting and personnel benefit services through web applications, administration, maintenance, employee training and software updates.

Giving back to the military and veteran community is also important to SMS, and recognized by the VOBA award. The company's charitable support includes the Paralyzed Veterans of America, America's Freedom Festival and the Fisher House Foundation.
