Thomson Reuters To Host TranSMART Community Meeting During BIO-IT World Conference
Meeting will bring together key stakeholders to discuss promise of translational research and help speed discoveries from laboratory to clinic
PHILADELPHIA, April 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters, the world's leading provider of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced it will host—in collaboration with the Pistoia Alliance and the tranSMART Foundation—a tranSMART Community meeting April 10, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Thomson Reuters office at 22 Thomson Place, Boston.
This meeting will bring together key stakeholders from universities, non-profit research organizations, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and vendors to discuss the future of translational research and to help speed promising discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic. It will also provide attendees with an overview of the tranSMART open-source, community-driven platform.
Presentations include an overview of the tranSMART Foundation (community home); a roadmap outlining tranSMART as the preferred data sharing and analytics platform for translational biomedical research; major initiatives and active projects including eTRIKS and TraIT; and the development of a partner network offering content and data curation, platform provisioning and implementation services.
This meeting is open to all interested parties but space is limited. Reservations for a space can be made online. Attendees will be welcomed on a first come, first served basis.
