The International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), New Delhi, and The Society for Health Information Systems Programmes (HISP India) are offering a series of short courses aimed at in-service strengthening of capacities of staff of the health departments in Health Management Information Systems.
IIHMR and HISP India proudly announce this course on “Integrated Open Source District Hospital Information System” offered 25 April through 6 May, 2011. The course is designed for administrators, implementers and users; with an objective to build capacity to customize the Hospital Information System for local needs and requirements. The course duration is 10days which will include class room sessions, practical customization session in laboratory and field visit implementation sites. The key topics to be covered in this course would include:
• Overview of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems
• Overview of HIS and EMR systems based on OpenMRS
• Conducting HIS functional, technical, and process requirements studies
• Implementing an HIS – Project Management, Infrastructure, HR and other issues
• Installing, customizing, and maintaining the OpenMRS HIS
• Joining the HISP network and accessing online resources.
