John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington D.C. Hosts TEDMED 2012 Conference
TEDMED announced that the 2012 edition of the conference will take place in Washington, DC at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from April 11-13, 2012. Todd Park to Speak at Commonwealth Fund in San Francisco
Park will discuss how advances in technology will continue to affect changes to our health-care system, create jobs and improve life for Americans. He will focus on his current work and how Healthcare.gov (which he helped create in his previous position as CTO of HHS) is being incorporated to help reduce health-care costs. He will also briefly discuss his overall work as CTO and how his health-care work ties in to this. Park joined the administration in August 2009 as chief technology officer of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, he served as a change agent and “entrepreneur-in-residence,” helping HHS harness the power of data, technology and innovation to improve the health of the nation.

2012 International Open Government Data Conference

Wikipedia Co-founder Coming to Tech@State
The next Tech@State event, scheduled for July 12-13 at George Washington University, will feature a talk from Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales.
The State Department has partnered with Wikimania 2012 and will explore wikis and the public sector. It aims to provide an opportunity to learn how wikis and wiki-associated technologies are being incorporated and used to enhance collaboration in the public sector, especially in the federal government.

RFID in Health Care 2012
RFID Journal announced today that registration is now open for RFID in Health Care 2012, a conference focused on how health-care providers employ radio frequency identification technologies to lower costs and improve patient outcomes. The event will be held on Sept. 6, 2012, at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers, located in Massachusetts.
