The woes of the retail industry are well known, and are usually blamed on the impact of the Internet. Credit Suisse projects that 8,600 brick-and-mortar stores will close in 2017, which would beat the record set in 2008, at the height of the last recession. There are "zombie malls," full of empty stores but not yet shuttered. And then there's health care, where the retail business is booming. In a recent Wall Street Journal article, Christopher Mims set forth Three Hard Lessons the Internet is Teaching Traditional Stores. The lessons are: Data is King, Personalization + Automation = Profits, Legacy Tech Won't Cut It.

Are CMS' Efforts Too Little and Too Late to Save the Collapsing US Rural Healthcare System?
With 35 percent of rural hospitals losing money and almost two-thirds running a negative operating margin, there’s simply no way rural facilities can invest in health IT without help...It’s clear that CMS understands we can’t leave rural hospitals to fend for themselves. But it also seems clear that a lot of hospitals invested in electronic health records (EHRs) they could ill afford to qualify for Meaningful Use funds—dollars that seldom covered implementation costs for solutions that didn’t yield significant cost savings and required additional technical personnel...“The high capital and operating costs associated with health IT, specifically EHRs, have put some hospitals in a difficult position,” wrote Becker’s Hospital CFO in a prescient January 2014 article. “Do they absorb the financial hit now, even if they know they can't afford it? Cyber Reliant Releases Mobile Data Defender - A Quantum Resistant Secure Voice and Chat solution
Cyber Reliant has released its early access program to specific government and commercial industry test users for quantum resistant voice and chat. Adopting quantum resistance methods is essential for ensuring full spectrum data security and privacy. Cyber Reliant's quantum resistant secure voice and chat provides a level of security such that if an attacker had unlimited computing power, as in a weaponized quantum computer, they still could not compromise the data protection methods employed by Cyber Reliant. This advancement overlays on legacy mobile devices that have chip-based True Random Number Generators already built-in to the device, and makes it possible for future device optionality and diversity, reducing expense and build complexity while increasing security to combat today and tomorrow's threats.
